The Terra Cotta Warriors are really impressive. Whole areas (e.g. the rear left in this picture) are still covered to protect the artifacts so we are just seeing a part of all the statues. And this is just one pit (but the largest to be uncovered).
Over 7,000 pottery soldiers, horses, chariots, and weapons have been unearthed and displayed. The life size warriors and horses arranged in battle formations symbolically guard the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of the Qin dynasty (246-209 BC).
